We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18, and we do not collect sensitive personal data (such as health, religious or biometric data) in the ordinary course of providing our services.

2. Lawful Basis for Processing

We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so:

  • Performance of a contract — to deliver the service you have paid for.
  • Legal obligation — to meet tax, accounting and anti-money-laundering requirements.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure our platforms, prevent fraud and improve our products, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent — for marketing email and non-essential cookies, which you may withdraw at any time.

3. How Your Data Is Stored and Secured

Data is held on access-controlled cloud infrastructure operated by reputable providers. We encrypt data in transit using TLS, and encrypt data at rest on our hosted databases and backups. Access to production systems is restricted to personnel who need it, protected by unique credentials and multi-factor authentication, and logged. Full payment card numbers are never stored on our systems — card data is captured and held by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processors.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission and affected users without undue delay, and in any event within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.

4. Third Parties We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the categories of processor needed to run the business, each under a written agreement requiring them to protect it:

  • Payment processors — to take payment, process refunds and screen for fraud.
  • Cloud hosting and storage providers — to host the platforms and store backups.
  • Email and communication providers — to send transactional and support email.
  • Analytics providers — to measure product usage in aggregate.
  • Professional advisers and authorities — accountants, auditors and lawyers, or regulators where we are legally required to disclose.

Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria. Where personal data is transferred abroad, we rely on an adequacy decision or on contractual safeguards requiring a comparable standard of protection, as required by the NDPR.

5. Data Retention

We keep personal data only as long as we need it:

  • Account and content data — for the life of your account, then deleted or anonymised within 90 days of closure.
  • Transaction and invoice records — retained for 6 years to satisfy Nigerian tax and company law.
  • Support correspondence — retained for 3 years from the last contact.
  • Security and access logs — retained for 12 months.

6. Your Rights

Subject to the NDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data where we have no overriding legal or contractual reason to keep it.
  • Restriction — ask us to pause processing while a concern is investigated.
  • Objection — object to processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests.
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting prior lawful processing.
  • Lodge a complaint — complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you believe your rights have been breached.

To exercise any of these rights, email payments@tekscopes.com. We will verify your identity and respond within 30 days. There is no charge unless the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

7. Cookies

Our websites and platforms use cookies and similar technologies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — keep you signed in, maintain your session and protect against cross-site request forgery. These cannot be turned off.
  • Preference cookies — remember settings such as your chosen plan view or language.
  • Analytics cookies — help us count visits and understand which features are used. Set only with your consent.

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the service from working. This marketing website does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The “last updated” date above will change, and we will notify account holders by email of any material change before it takes effect.
